Studio

At the heart of my studio set up is Sonar 5 Studio Edition. This is the software I use to compose and tweak all my audio and MIDI tracks. My sampler, hosted as a VST within Sonar, is Kontakt 2. When composing orchestral music, this houses the brilliantly realistic EWQLSO Gold Edition samples. For these samples to work in real-time requires a fast computer and a low-latency soundcard, the M-Audio Audiophile 2496.

My MIDI controller keyboard, the semi-weighted M-Audio Keystation 61es makes composing and recording faster and the Event ALP5 monitors ensure the final sound is accurate and well mixed.

Once I have finished writing a piece, I export the audio and add any finishing touches using the freeware sound editor, Audacity. If the piece needs to be notated for live performance, I will use Sibelius 5.
